Monitor/Defibrillator
The Propaq MD is an ultra-lightweight compact device with highly sophisticated, advanced capabilities that combine the well-accepted and proven features of Propaq monitors with the clinically superior therapeutic capabilities of ZOLL defibrillation and non-invasive pacing technologies. The Propaq MD is 60 percent smaller and 40 percent lighter than similar monitor/defibrillators.
The Propaq MD provides an unmatched combination of capabilities that include a large, high-contrast, color LCD display capable of showing up to four waveforms simultaneously, as well as a full 12-lead ECG for on-screen review. All physiological monitoring parameter values, including heart rate, SpO2, ETCO2, respiration, non-invasive blood pressure, two temperatures, and three invasive pressures, are shown in large color-coded numeric formats. The device is capable of monitoring all patients, adult, pediatric or neonatal. The Propaq MD is the only FDA-cleared airworthy defibrillator to provide monitoring of three invasive pressures necessary for treating critical patients during long transports. The system also incorporates a new battery that will monitor all physiological parameters for over six hours on a single battery charge. Designed to withstand the tough demands encompassing air transport, the Propaq MD meets an unprecedented number of international standards related to durability, environmental operation and storage extremes, radio frequency emissions, and susceptibility to spurious electrical and radio frequency noise.
Ventilator
The LTV1000 by Pulmonetics allows ventilation to be tailored to each individual patient's needs with available pressure control, pressure support, volume control, adjustable flow triggering, NPPV, C-PAP, and apnea back-up mode. The LTV1000 is diagnostic ready with AutoPEEP and Static Compliance features, and has the added capability of utilizing the LTM Graphics Monitor ("Heads-up") for full-color, user selectable ventilator wave form displays and diagnostics. Internal oxygen blending allows use of either high or low pressure oxygen sources.
Infusion Pumps
IVAC (Alaris) Medsystem III is a pole-mounted infusion pump that has three independently-programmed channels. The units include a Drug Dose Calculator, and adjustable pressure limits, in a small, lightweight (about 5 pounds) unit. Six different operating modes are programmed into the pump, having preset parameters that accommodate specific clinical applications. Each one of our teams carries two of these pumps, allowing us to manage up to six different infusions per patient.
LifePort Stretcher System
The majority of our aircraft are outfitted with the LifePort Patient Loading Utility System (PLUS). The PLUS is a modular advanced life support (ALS) platform that attaches directly to the aircraft seat track. The PLUS is composed of three separate but complimentary elements: the base unit, the loading system, and the AeroSled stretcher.
The base unit not only provides a secure platform for the stretcher, but also houses the ALS components necessary to sustain a critical patient over extended flights. This includes 3500 liters of oxygen, a 1000-watt electrical inverter, and a vacuum pump.
The loading system attaches directly to the base unit and extends out of the aircraft door. The load ramp is bi-folding for storage and is therefore able to be transported with the aircraft. By extending out of the door, this minimizes the lifting or tilting of the patient while on the stretcher.
The AeroSled TS is the stretcher utilized by AeroCare, and includes a pneumatically controlled backrest, a 2-inch thick mattress and patient restraint system. The sled features automatic locking and a single-hand release, making the manipulation inside the aircraft effortless.
